Mayoor Annual Exhibition on the Theme – ‘Ying Yang --- The Balance’
The Annual Exhibition of Mayoor School Ajmer was organized on 17th December 2011 and was inaugurated by Smt. Manju Rajpal, Collector & District Magistrate, Ajmer at 10:00 am. The theme of the exhibition this year was ‘Yin Yang------The Balance’ which is an ancient Chinese Philosophy of balance where two opposites co-exist in harmony and are able to transmute into each other and thus explains the dynamic system of this universe. The exhibition encompassed the phenomenon of Yin Yang in several vital aspects of the universe.
At the entrance gate of the school, ‘An interview’ by our school with people of different vocations correspondent highlighted the fact about how people can achieve the ‘balance’ so essential to their sense of well being.
‘The Ying Yang Story’ further explained the concept of Yin Yang through an enactment depicting that working together in harmony is designed by the creator and it insures the natural rhythm of the cosmos.
The next section of the exhibition dealt with Ying Yang in the five elements of nature depicting how human intrusion has disturbed the delicate balance between these elements for selfish interests, giving the message of the necessity of maintaining this balance.
The exhibition in Commerce and Economics displayed the phenomenon Yin Yang through exhibits on trade cycles, mixed Capitalist and Socialist economies, stock market etc. The History section of the exhibition depicted the imbalance of Ying Yang in society resulting into war and violence followed by efforts of peace in historical ‘Timeline’. In science, the Chemistry exhibition displayed the interplay of various chemicals, elements and substances that keep the balance in the world of ‘matter’; the Biology exhibition emphasized the principle of Ying Yang in the human body and its significance for the physical health & fitness of human beings; and the Physics section displayed exhibits on gears, pulleys, robots etc along with other futuristic projects like techno-farming, emergency solar powered light, hover craft, etc.
The Geography exhibition dealt with the existence and essence of Ying Yang in the myriad universal phenomenon like day-night, waxing-warning of moon, coming-retreating of waves, seasons, hot-cold currents etc.
The Hindi Deptt. exhibited the assimilation of Ying Yang in the Indian culture and mythology, belief in ‘Ardhanarebhwar’ gain theory of ‘Anekant’ etc were explained in addition to an enactment on the effect of ‘imbalance of Ying Yang’ in ‘Dhritrashtra Darbaar’, the significance of balance in material & spiritual life was shown in ‘Santulit Udaan.’
Ying Yang in Yoga & Karate along with Mayoor Cricket Teams Tour to Australia where the highlights of games exhibition while ‘Illusion boom’ was the attraction of Psychology Exhibition. Mathematics Deptt. Exhibited puzzles while Art Craft exhibition displayed the work alone by the children throughout the year. The highlights of the IT exhibition where the latest IT gadgets like interactive board and the products made from E-waste while international linkages ‘drew attention’ by the colorful glimpses of the school’s international activities and International School Award conferred to Mayoor School, Ajmer for the second time in a row.
All in all, it was on eventful day in the ‘Year Look’ of Mayoor School.
32nd Annual Prize Giving Function
Mayoor School, Ajmer organized its 32nd Annual Prize giving function on 18th December, 2011. Hon’ble Minister of Communications & Technology, Sachin Pilot graced the occasions as the Chief Guest. The chief Guest arrived in the campus at 3:50 pm and first witnessed the highlights of the Annual Exhibitions. There after a group photograph of the chief guest with the member of the mayo college general council was taken. Thereafter he was escorted to the Waddington Ground.
The programme began with the chanting of a shloka followed by an orchestra presentation titled ‘Ragajazzmala’ in which the Mayoor chair and mayoor orchestra ensemble employed a wide variety of instruments and voices to create a magical impact.
Orchestra was followed by reading of the schools, Annual reports by the Principal, Mr. Neeraj Badhotiya, CCA report by Tanushree Sogani and the games report by Chitresh Bhatt. This was followed by the prize giving Ceremony in which prizes for academics, sports and CCA; Outstanding performance, in Board Exminations; scholarships for excellence in sports; House Trophies for best performance in Academics CCA, sports and All-rounder Best House etc where awarded by Shri Sachin Pilot. The Chief Guest then delivered a speech in which he appreciated the efforts made by the students in the exhibition and quality of education imparted in the school. He encouraged the students to continue working hard and do not only the school and the state but also the nation proud.
After the Prize giving ceremony the play ‘KIM’- an adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s famous novel – was presented.
The main cast of the drama involved around 65 students playing the various major and minor roles. The presentation of the drama was studded with 6 dances, each consisting of 35-40 students; live ‘on-stage’ singing and live band. The backstage team consisted of about 30 students in addition to a member of teachers who were incharge of various teams. The play was scripted and directed by Mr. Gursharan Singh and was liked and applauded by all.
The programme culminated with the vote of thanks proposed by Priyamrola Kamanth – the head girl of the school followed by the national anthem.
